The power rating of this new engine has increased from 115 hp earlier to 160 hp. If paired with a manual transmission, the maximum torque of the Energy TCe 160 is 260 N · m. If an efficient dual clutch gearbox (EDC gearbox) is used, the maximum torque when achieving maximum power is 270 N · m. When the speed is in the range of 1750 rpm to 3700 rpm, the maximum torque of the new engine can be achieved. At present, the engine has been opened to users in France and other European countries, and it is expected to be delivered to customers by mid January 2018.

This engine also adopts innovative technologies recently developed by the Renault Nissan alliance, including Bore Spray Coating. The cylinder spray technology of the Nissan GT-R engine can reduce friction and thermal conductivity, thereby significantly improving engine energy efficiency.

And this engine is also equipped with other technologies, thereby improving driving pleasure while reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The pressure of direct injection in the cylinder has also been increased by 250 bar, and its special engine combustion chamber design also optimizes the fuel/air mixture ratio.

In addition, the Dual Variable Timing Camshaft technology can adjust the intake and exhaust valves based on engine load, which can increase the torque value of the engine at low speeds; At high speeds, linear torque can be increased, bringing great benefits to users in terms of driving comfort and mid range response.
